Keya Gupta

Born in Maharashtra and  being brought up in various states like, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhatisghar and  Madhya Pradesh, I can truly say, I am an Indian Citizen not belonging to one state, but having the entire country as my birth place.

Completed my education in Bhopal, it is also where I discovered my inclination towards the performing arts. I completed my formal training in Kathak with a formal degree in the same. Having trained under my guru, Ms. Anuradha Singh, was a matter of immense pride and honor as she taught me everything I needed to know about the dance form and many more things about life. Post my training, I performed across various reputed and renown festivals in India such as the Raipur Festival, Chhatisghar festival and more.

If there is one thing that this dance form teaches you, it is the qualities of grace and perseverance. Carrying that legacy forward, I moved to the tinseltown of Mumbai. The city of dreams. I joined the coveted Barry John’s institute wherein I underwent rigorous training in Direction and Acting. Seeing things from the point of view of a director is extremely important for the actor and vice-versa.

While at the institute, I had the opportunity to showcase my talent at various talent shows such as Entertainment Ke Liye Kutch Bhi Karega, India’s Got Talent, Boogie Woogie and Dance India Dance. I’m more than glad to say that the mentors & judges at these shows still have me on their mind and are in touch with me even today. Post my course, my perseverance and efforts got me roles in television series such as Parvarish, Ek Muthi Aasmaan, Savdhaan India and Crime Patrol. I even got the opportunity to work as an executive producer for Colors channel and a show on SAB TV.

My creative pursuits pushed me to join Yatri Theatre after undergoing an intensive workshop under Shri. Om Katare. From the entire batch of students, I was the privileged one to be selected to be inducted into the group, based on sheer passion and talent to perform on stage. Following this, I was performing at-least 4 different plays at any given point of time, in addition to handling technical and production for the rest. My performing plays have fortunately been extremely popular with the audiences and have set records. These include names such as Hadh Kar Di Aapne, Chinta Chhod Chintamani, Raavanleela and the recent, Yeh Tera Dil..Yeh Mera Dil just to name a few.

I also had the opportunity to be a part of certain short films, which is a recent trend for professional and upcoming film makers to showcase their talents. I have been associated with them in capacity of an actor. I initiated my own production in late 2017 with Puglet Productions and came up with my web-series HUMTUM.COM. It helped me showcase my Direction, Acting and partly, writing skills as well. The web-series was received very warmly by the internet community and we shall be coming up with something new very soon. We have also been doing lots of corporate work and advertising films as well.
